$20 Million For New Meat Processing Plant In Alberta
Harmony Meats announced the opening of a new meat processing plant in Balzac, Alberta province, in fall 2015.
The plant will occupy a total area of 75 thousand square feet and employ about 300 workers, (125 immediately and the rest within 3 years) and will have a production capacity of 800 head of cattle per day once full production capacity is reached.
Much of the investment will go toward the purchase of machinery and equipment that will enable the facility to become the largest EU-compliant meat slaughtering facility in Canada.
