December 2020 data released by Statistics Canada and Trade Data Monitor showed positive growth in Italy's exports to Canada of technology and capital goods from the 15 target sectors of the Machines Italia project.

With nearly + 3 percent, Italy has the best performance among the top 20 partner countries in 2020. Italy's market share also grew by 23 percent, compared to the same period in 2019.
In sharp contrast, the trend of Canada's total imports of machinery and industrial equipment, which decreased by 16.5 percent in 2020.

Graphic and papermaking industry machinery, packaging and wrapping machinery, and agricultural machinery, the best performing sectors of Italian exports to Canada with +162.5%, +27.4% and +22.2%. These positive figures confirm the strong confidence Canadian manufacturing companies have in Italian technologies.
