Together with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) hosted The Italian Way to Advanced Manufacturing round-table discussion panel on the occasion of the International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exhibition (IMECE) which took place from November 10 to 13, 2020 in Salt Lake City, (UT).  The November 13th, 2019 panel was attended by approximately 200 researchers, academics and industrials from around the world who were taking part in IMECE’s advanced manufacturing and related conference tracks.

The panel provided an exciting debate discussion by ASME members and industry experts from Italy on novel technologies coming out of Italy and the best practices for collaborations between Italian and US companies and research centers in the area of advanced manufacturing.  During the reception, the IMECE’s Advanced Manufacturing Track's Best Paper Awards was presented by the ASME.

Within the dates of the conference, the ITA organized on behalf of Italian delegates and panelists several site visits and meetings to build relationships with several US counterparts within advanced manufacturing research and related industry complexes such as Boeing and the University of Utah.

The 2019 Innovation Days - Salt Lake City, UT was the second edition of the Innovation Days (ID) initiative which aims to reaffirm Italy’s position as a top solution provider to the US while encouraging engagements between some of Italy’s leading companies and universities to create and or further enhance existing partnerships with their US counterparts in commercial and research areas.
