Earlier this month, the Italian Trade Commission (ITA), ANIMA (the Italian Mechanical Engineering Industry Association), and UNACEA (the Italian Construction Equipment Association) proudly participated in PDAC 2025, the world’s premier mineral exploration and mining convention. Their participation highlighted Italy’s commitment to advancing mining and construction technology on a global scale. By fostering international collaboration and showcasing cutting-edge innovations, Italy reinforced its role as a key player in the industry, merging traditional craftsmanship with modern engineering excellence.
Italy’s dedication to the mining sector was further demonstrated by the recent launch of a €1 billion fund aimed at investing in critical raw materials and enhancing mining capabilities. This initiative is part of Italy’s broader strategy to revitalize mining operations, boost innovation, and secure its leadership in sustainable mining practices. It highlights Italy’s proactive efforts to solidify its position within the global mineral exploration landscape.
At PDAC 2025, Italy proudly showcased a selection of its most advanced earthmoving, mining, and construction technology providers. In addition to these technological showcases, a delegation of officials from the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MEMI), the Ministry for the Environment (MASE), Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Group, and the Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research attended the event. These representatives participated in discussions about recent policy developments, business incentives, and opportunities at the European Union booth. At the European Union’s Business and Networking Breakfast, Alberto Castronovo, Head of the Internationalisation Unit at the Cabinet of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, also participated in a panel discussion on building resilient raw materials value chains within the EU.
