Mexico is the 5th largest furniture exporter in the world.

According to the Jalisco Furniture Manufacturers Association (Afamjal), Mexico is a leading furniture exporter, ranking 5th in the furniture and mattress industry worldwide, surpassing countries such as the United States and Canada; in addition, the furniture industry is the sixth largest manufacturing export category in Mexico, which demonstrates its importance and competitiveness in the international arena.

Globally, the furniture industry is in a period of significant growth driven by several key factors such as urbanization, population expansion, rising incomes, and the expansion of the real estate sector, with the Mexican market expected to generate revenues of close to US$10 billion this year, with a projected growth to US$11 billion by 2029.

The furniture sector has shown a strong inclination towards sustainability and technological integration, which responds to market demands and a growing awareness of environmental responsibility and efficiency in production processes supported by innovation, so it delved into the recycled leather market, which is estimated to register a growth rate of 6.5% between 2020 and 2030.

The market for sustainable textiles, including those used in upholstery and furniture, is forecast to grow at a rate of around 5.9% from 2021 to 2028; particularly by materials made from wool, linen, organic cotton, and vegan leather.
