The World Packaging Organization Signs Cooperation Agreement With Italy's Ipack-Ima SpA

Milan, December 2012- At the end of November 2012, WPO (World Packaging Organization) signed a cooperation agreement with Ipack-Ima Spa to support and promote the exhibitions East Afripack (9-12 September 2014 – Kenya) and IPACK-IMA (19-23 May 2015 – Italy). Italy's association for textile machinery, ACIMIT, reported textile machinery orders for the third quarter of 2012 grew by eight percent (8%) over the previous quarter, for an absolute value of 108.2 points (2005=100). A comparison with the same period in 2011 showed an even greater increase (+53%), a positive result which is due solely to orders originating from foreign markets, whereas the situation in Italy highlighted a decidedly opposite and negative trend. In fact, orders from foreign markets rose 11% compared to the period from April to June 2012, for an absolute value of 123.3 points

According to statistics provided by the association, Assocomaplast, Italian imports and exports for the sector recorded new gains in the first half of 2012 with respect to the same period in 2011. Italian exports for the sector, marked a substantial increase (+11%) exceeding 1.23 billion euros overall. This has produced measurable improvement in the balance of trade, which has reached figures well in excess of 900 million euros. For Italian textile machinery, 2012 begins with greater stability than the previous year.
