During the past year 2024, Aguascalientes captured 27 domestic and foreign investment projects, with a total amount exceeding 20 billion pesos and with the projection of generating more than 11,800 formal jobs, according to Esaú Garza de Vega, head of the head of the SEDECyT.
“These projects cover strategic sectors such as electromobility, clean energy, and advanced manufacturing, pillars of our vision for the future,” he said.
In terms of exports, the state closed the third quarter of 2024 with a historic record of 10,691 million dollars in exports, according to INEGI. In addition, the state ranks third nationally in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). On the other hand, in terms of economic growth, Aguascalientes registered a 6.2% increase in Gross Domestic Product, placing it in fifth place nationally.
“We are ready to face a 2025 full of challenges and opportunities. Our strategy will focus on consolidating our leadership in high-tech sectors such as electromobility, semiconductors, and clean energy. We will also seek to expand our exports to emerging markets, diversifying our trade routes and maximizing the impact of the “Made in Aguascalientes” label,” said de Vega.
Also during 2024, around 11,611 productive projects were supported, strengthening our micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.
