From January to September of this year 2024, air cargo movement in Mexico grew by 7.1% compared to the same period of 2023. According to statistics from the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC), 940,840.2 tons were moved during the aforementioned period, which means 62,133.5 tons more for 2024.

Felipe Angeles International Airport (AIFA) continues to be the airport with the highest cargo traffic, going from 75,412.5 tons to 336,789.8 tons.

On the other hand,Mexico City International Airport (AICM) showed a 54.6% decrease, ending the first nine months of this year with 175,483.2 tons, compared to 386,509.2 tons a year earlier.

Domestic cargo movement increased 2.1% year-over-year, as it closed the period with 290,505.5 tons, 6,103.9 tons more. At the international level, growth was 9.4%, as 650,334.8 tons were transported compared to 594,305.1 tons last year.

It is worth noting that the Monterrey-Mexico domestic market increased 16.8% year over year, from 5,990 tons to 6,996 tons. On the other hand, the Mexico-Guadalajara route decreased 70.1%, since in 2023 it handled 12,314 tons, for this 2024 it was only 3,684 tons.

Regarding the international, the one with the highest growth was Querétaro-Memphis with 10.9%, ending with 18,005 tons from January to September of this year, while in 2023 it was 16,236 tons.
