Six major oil discoveries, amounting to an estimated 339 million barrels, were made in Mexico during the early 2020s. One of these discoveries was made by the Italian multinational company ENI whose deposit amounts to 143 million barrels of oil and 17,300 cubic meters of gas.

The other five oil discoveries were made by PEMEX, totaling 102 million barrels of oil and 17,300 cubic meters of gas.

ENI began working with Mexico in 1967, with the Agip Petroleum Company. Since 2015, our hydrocarbon exploration and development activities have focused off the country's coast.
