The Italian confectionery group Ferrero Spa has announced the creation of a new R&D centre in Mexico in response to the growing demand for sweet treats in Latin America and the success of some of its marquee products such as Nutella and Ferrero Rocher.

Ferrero’s R&D facility will be located in proximity to the existing plant in San José Iturbide, Guanajuato state and will be equipped with advanced equipment and a laboratory to develop and test new products, recipes and ingredients for both the domestic and the regional markets.
