The automotive boom in Querétaro

In 2024, Querétaro recorded more than 9,600 MDD in auto parts production, 37,014 light vehicles sold, and 31 automotive investments of 931.4 MDD, consolidating itself as a key hub of industrial growth.

The state has established itself as a key pillar in the supply chain of the automotive industry in Mexico, standing out especially in the production of auto parts and technological solutions. Querétaro ranks fifth nationally in the production of auto parts, thanks to a solid industrial infrastructure, a network of highly specialized suppliers, and a strategic location near Guanajuato and San Luis Potosí, states where top assemblers such as BMW, General Motors, Honda, Toyota, and Mazda operate.

In 2024, the value of auto parts production in the state will exceed $9.6 billion, a reflection of its technological capacity and international competitiveness, thanks to the more than 85,000 direct jobs generated and a growing attraction of investment that strengthen Querétaro, which is experiencing a strategic phase of expansion of its automotive ecosystem.

In 2024, state production will reach $9.605 million, according to the National Auto Parts Industry (INA), which means 1.63 percent growth over 2023. For 2025, the Industrial Cluster predicts a 1.09 percent increase, estimating a value of $9.71 billion.

Querétaro's light vehicle market performed well in 2024, with a total of 37,014 units sold, representing an annual growth of 14.3%. In the first two months of 2025, sales totaled 5,872 units, a 3.4 percent increase over the same period last year. The projection for the end of 2025 is 37,828 units sold, an increase of 2.2 percent.
