Acimall, the association representing Italian woodworking and furniture technology manufacturers, has embarked on a groundbreaking initiative by forming Confindustria Macchine. This new federation marks the beginning of a transformative project aimed at providing enhanced services and a fresh perspective to its members.
The assembly unanimously approved the board of directors' proposal to establish Federazione Confindustria Macchine per ceramica, legno, plastica e gomma, imballaggio e confezionamento (Confindustria federation for ceramic, wood, plastic, rubber, packaging machines). This organization will bolster representation within Confindustria and play a crucial role in Italy's political and economic arenas.
With over 1,300 companies, 70,000 employees, and a total turnover exceeding 19 billion euros—75% of which stems from exports—the new association promises to significantly contribute to Italy's trade balance. It will also offer additional services, consulting, and training to member companies of Acimall, Acimac (ceramics technologies), Amaplast (plastic machines), and Ucima (packaging technology)—the four Confindustria associations involved in this pioneering project.
"It's time to make strategic decisions to equip manufacturers of capital goods for an increasingly competitive market," stated Enrico Aureli, President of Acimall and a key advocate of this ambitious endeavor.
"Our collaboration with Acimac, Amaplast, and Ucima, alongside potential future partners within the Federmacchine galaxy, will strengthen our ability to advocate effectively on a global stage. Together, we will address challenges such as the green transition and navigate complex global issues with unified strength," Aureli added.
