Italy Invests in the US: Italy's Serioplast is opening its third U.S. facility 🏭

Serioplast, an international leader in rigid plastic packaging based in Seriate, Italy, will invest $25.7 million in Shenandoah County, Virginia. The company plans to repurpose a 140,000-square-foot industrial facility, creating 45 new jobs. Serioplast serves major brands like Procter & Gamble and Unilever and operates 33 production facilities across 16 countries. Its commitment to sustainability includes using recycled materials in manufacturing, aligning with circular economy principles.

Governor Glenn Youngkin welcomed Serioplast's expansion into Virginia, highlighting the state’s skilled workforce and favorable business environment. The Virginia Talent Accelerator Program will support Serioplast with customized workforce training. Secretary of Commerce Caren Merrick emphasized Virginia’s appeal to global manufacturers, while Serioplast CEO Paolo Bergamini expressed confidence in Virginia’s economic vitality for long-term success.

Local officials, including the Shenandoah Valley Partnership and Shenandoah County leaders, celebrated the investment, commending Serioplast’s decision to revitalize an existing industrial building. The Virginia Economic Development Partnership, alongside state grants, secured this project. Serioplast’s growth signifies its continued innovation in packaging solutions, with the Shenandoah facility furthering its North American presence and reinforcing its dedication to sustainability. The expansion exemplifies a collaborative effort to bolster Shenandoah County's manufacturing sector and create new opportunities for the community.
