In the first four months of 2025, Mexico produced 1.29 million light vehicles, an increase of 0.94 percent over 2024.

In the cumulative period from January to April, there was a slight increase compared to the same period last year, according to data from INEGI's Administrative Register of the Light Vehicle Industry (RAIAVL).

Light vehicle production totaled 326,069 units in April 2025, down 9.07 percent from the same month a year earlier. Cumulatively, from January to April, it reached 1,299,554 units, implying a slight increase of 0.94 percent over the same period in 2024.

April exports reached 256,953 units, down 10.88 percent from the same month in 2024. In the cumulative January-April period, light vehicle exports reached 1,032,819 units, down 7.29 percent from the 1,114,037 units mobilized in the same period of 2024.

The United States remains the top destination, with 840,790 units exported in the first four months of the year, accounting for 81.4 percent of total Mexican exports. Canada is in second place, with 97,280 units (9.4 percent share), followed by Germany, with 24,965 vehicles (2.3 percent).
