LEITNER, a world-leading Italian company in the construction of cable cars, gondolas, and ropeways, has completed the construction of Cablebús line 2 "Constitución 1917-Santa Marta," the cable car that will serve the Izatapalapa district in Mexico City's central-east, an area with a high population density.

The new line consists of more than 300 10-seat cabins and covers a 10.6-kilometer route with seven stations. The new line will operate for a short period free of charge, allowing the population to become familiar with the route and technical aspects of the system.

The company previously built the Mexicable line in the Ecatepec area.

In the second half of 2021, a new tender is expected for the construction of Cablebús Line 3.
