To highlight the potential of an enhanced R&D and trade relationship between Italy and the USA regarding advanced manufacturing, the Italian Trade Agency has partnered this year with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, to create on the occasion of IMECE 2024, a special panel entitled The Italian Way to Advanced Manufacturing on Wednesday, November 20, 11:10 am - 12:10 pm.
This will be an opportunity to have engagements in an exciting panel discussion by ASME members and industry experts from Italy on novel technologies coming out of Italy and the best practices for collaborations between Italian and US companies and research centers in the area of advanced manufacturing.
The International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) is ASME's largest research and development (R&D) conference focused primarily on mechanical engineering while encompassing perspectives from many engineering disciplines. Each year, roughly 2,400 papers, presentations, and posters are presented at IMECE in 17 core tracks. Attendees include the leading researchers in their representative disciplines from academia, government, and industry R&D labs. The greatest strength of IMECE is the breadth of research presented. With approximately 30 parallel sessions running over a 4-day technical program, every field is addressed. From critical advancements in mature fields to new and innovative areas of R&D.
This year will mark the second edition of the panel, the first taking place in 2019 at IMECE 2019 Salt Lake City. Dr. Marriner Merrill, from the Rochester Institute of Technology, will once again moderate.
The Machines Italia Desk will be represented by personnel from the Italian Trade Agency's Chicago Office, and will have a booth onsite to assist attendees (Booth #810).
