Automotive production in Mexico rises in the first four months of 2025

In the first four months of 2025, Mexico produced 1.29 million light vehicles, an increase of 0.94% compared to 2024

In the cumulative period, from January to April, there was a slight increase compared to the same period of the previous year, according to data from INEGI's Administrative Registry of the Light Vehicle Automotive Industry (RAIAVL).

Light vehicle production registered a total of 326,069 units in April 2025, representing a decrease of 9.07 % compared to the same month of the previous year. Cumulative production, from January to April, reached 1,299,554 units, which implies a slight increase of 0.94 % compared to the same period of 2024.

Exports for April reached 256,953 units, which represents a 10.88 % drop compared to the same month of 2024. In the accumulated January-April period, exports of light vehicles reached 1,032,819 units, showing a 7.29 % decrease compared to the 1,114,037 units mobilized in the same period of 2024.

The United States remains the main destination, with 840,790 units exported during the first four months of the year, equivalent to 81.4% of total Mexican exports. Canada is in second place, with 97,280 units (9.4% share), followed by Germany, with 24,965 vehicles (2.3%).
