Canadian Manufacturers Outlook 2018
Machines Italia collaborated on the Canadian Manufacturers' Outlook 2018 report, which was presented and previewed at an editorial roundtable, held on October 17, 2017 at the editorial office of Plant magazine.
The report has been compiled, for more than 10 years, based on a survey to approximately 500 Canadian manufacturing decision makers and provides insight into Canada's economy and the issues facing Canadian manufacturers and exporters. The information in the report is used by analysts and decision makers to formulate forecasts, set strategies and policies for action in Canada's manufacturing sector. The 2017 surveyemerges that 94 percent of respondents consider themselves optimistic or cautiously optimistic about the business outlook for 2018 while 95 percent are optimistic or cautiously optimistic about the outlook for the three-year period 2018-2020. The improved outlook for 2018 concerns both turnover (62% of respondents) and orders (57%). 39% expect profits to increase in 2018. In addition, 52% of the sample expect to purchase machinery and equipment in the next 3 years.
