According to the quarterly exports by federal entity of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), corresponding to the first quarter of 2024, Nuevo Leon ranked third nationally with 13,041.8 million dollars, and a percentage participation of 10.1% of the national total, behind Chihuahua, with 16,704.4 million dollars (13% of the total) and Coahuila with 15,459.5 million dollars (12% of the total).
In the first quarter of 2024, the entities that contributed the most to exports of accessories, electrical appliances and electrical power generation equipment were: Nuevo León (28.1%), Chihuahua (14.9%), Tamaulipas (11.5%), Baja California (10.6%) and Querétaro (7.6%). These entities account for 72.8% of total exports in this subsector, according to Inegi.
According to the Economic Expectations Survey of the Transformation Industry Chamber of Nuevo Leon (Caintra), the exports index has been above the expansion threshold (50 points) for three consecutive months, reflecting the strength of the state's manufacturing sales abroad.
In May, the exports indicator reached 51.6 points, its third consecutive month in the expansion zone, while in April it reached 51.41 points and in March it reached 50.41 points, which coincides with the sector's production.
