Italian cable giant Prysmian is investing $500 million to expand its McKinney, Texas, operations with a 650,000-square-foot medium-voltage cable facility, creating 120 jobs and boosting U.S. energy infrastructure. The plant, expected to open in 2027, will enhance capacity to meet growing electricity demand. Prysmian acquired local firm Encore Wire for $4.1 billion in 2024. Since its founding in 1989, Encore has grown to span 3.5 million square feet. This new site will be one of the largest on Prysmian’s campus, which is already the world’s largest vertically integrated cable factory. Prysmian operates in over 50 countries with 33,000 employees.
