Proma Group, Italian automotive components company, seeks to invest in Aguascalientes

Executives from Proma Group, a company that specializes in the production of components for the automotive sector, met with Tere Jiménez, governor of Aguascalientes, during the meeting to discuss the competitive advantages offered by the state as a strategic destination for possible investments in the automotive sector.

 

The Italian company specializes in developing and manufacturing seat structures and mechanisms, body assemblies and suspension cross members.

The meeting was attended by Andrea Massimo Fusco, vice-president of Proma Mexico, who thanked the state government for the reception and highlighted the company's interest in expanding its operations in Mexico.

 

Fusco explained that Proma specializes in the manufacture of seat structures and mechanisms, body assemblies and suspension cross members. It has a presence in 27 plants in 10 countries.

 

Also present at the meeting were Esaú Garza de Vega, Secretary of Economic Development, Science and Technology (Sedecyt); Carlos Gutiérrez Verdeja, PROMA's plant manager; Jorge Armando Andrade Serafín, Sedecyt's Undersecretary of Investment and Development; and Guillermo Reed Frausto, Sedecyt's Director of Investment Attraction.

 

The head of SEDECyT informed that according to INEGI data, during the first half of 2024, Aguascalientes registered an accumulated growth in exports of more than 18% compared to the same period of the previous year. This performance positions us as one of the national leaders in economic growth and demonstrates the dynamism of our productive sector, with the automotive industry as a key player.

 

“This growth reflects the confidence that foreign companies have in our state. Aguascalientes has proven to be a safe, efficient and competitive destination, with a highly trained and committed workforce that drives companies to reach new levels of productivity and excellence,” he detailed.
