Mexico has attracted more than 16 MMDD in investments in the first quarter of 2023
At the 12th edition of the BBVA Latin America Conference, the Undersecretary of Finance, Gabriel Yorio, informed that Mexico has capitalized 16.4 billion dollars in foreign investment during the first quarter of 2023, thanks to its strategic location, skilled labor force and access to foreign trade.

Also, during his participation, he explained that the Securities Market Law and the Investment Funds Law aim to increase competition and seek to facilitate the participation of small and medium-sized companies in the securities market and help develop Mexico's sustainable financial ecosystem.

He mentioned that the Mexican Government has maintained healthy public finances with a stable trajectory of net debt as a percentage of GDP and has improved tax collection by fighting tax evasion and without increasing taxes.

During his visit to New York, Undersecretary Gabriel Yorio presented the Sustainable Taxonomy to ESG investors at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Nasdaq. Mexico's Sustainable Taxonomy is a unique global initiative designed to promote a just transition and encourage environmental and social investments with a focus on environmental and social justice. It is also the first in the world to define gender equality as a priority objective.
